1. Scope and Purpose
This Privacy Policy governs the collection, processing, and storage of data within the VisionSleuth AI platform, developed as part of a Master's thesis in Bioinformatics at Üsküdar University. The system is designed for academic research in AI‑assisted forensic video analysis and is not intended for commercial deployment.
2. Data Collection
VisionSleuth AI processes video data and associated metadata exclusively for the purpose of real‑time object detection and forensic analysis. The platform collects:
- Video frames submitted through the live analysis or video upload interface
- Detection metadata (bounding boxes, class labels, confidence scores)
- Session‑level technical data (timestamps, processing duration)
No personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, or IP addresses is collected or stored by the analysis pipeline.
3. Data Processing and Retention
All video data is processed locally on the server during the analysis session. Uploaded video files are automatically deleted upon completion of analysis. Generated forensic reports and detection results are retained temporarily for retrieval purposes and are subject to automatic expiration within 24 hours.
No video content is transmitted to external services, cloud storage providers, or third‑party analytics platforms.
4. Data Security
The platform implements industry‑standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for data in transit, file‑system isolation for uploaded content, and automatic cleanup of temporary data. As an academic research prototype, the system undergoes continuous evaluation; however, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
5. Ethical Considerations
VisionSleuth AI is developed under the ethical guidelines of Üsküdar University. The AI model has been trained on publicly available datasets and does not perform facial recognition, biometric identification, or any form of individual surveillance. All detections are limited to object‑level classification (e.g., weapons, tools) and spatial threat assessment.
